Eco-Friendly Krathongs at KISRP

This week, the KIS community, students, parents, teachers, and staff, came together in the spirit of Loy Krathong, blending Thai cultural traditions with our commitment to sustainability. Early Years and primary students crafted beautiful Krathongs using natural materials like lotus flowers, banana trunks, and leaves, guided by teachers and parents who shared their expertise and stories.

Students also learned to fold lotus flowers (พับดอกบัวใส่กระทง) and reflected on the lotus's meaning in Buddhism as a symbol of growth and resilience.

In secondary, the excitement continued with a lively Assembly featuring games, a Thai costume contest, and a Krathong-making competition led by the Student Voice Group.

These activities showcased how we prepare to celebrate Thai culture here at KIS Reignwood Park, fostering a sense of tradition, respect, and an eco-friendly mindset.
